Herb Garden

Here is our attempt to grow an herb garden. Our dill is growing like crazy, then cilantro and a little parsley. Basil and mint are not doing very well. We will put them in real pots soon!

More teeth missing!

We were sure that Amanda's tooth was going to come out during the soccer game, but she caught all the balls coming her way in the goal box. After she got home, she pulled out tooth #5. The tooth fairy came on Saturday night, leaving $1.50! I got a call today from her teacher. Amanda had hit herself in the mouth making her top tooth bleed. When I got there, her tooth was pushed to the side and she wouldn't let me pull it out. Amanda got of the bus, after school, with a big grin on her face. Someone on the playground bumped into her, causing tooth #6 to come out! The tooth fairy will have to make another stop tonight!!

Soccer Weekend!

We had our end of the year soccer party, after we tied the other team, on Saturday. Will enjoyed the cookie cake, Amanda ate fruit snacks!
Amanda or "A-Dog" was very excited about getting a trophy!

We also had team pictures taken! Here is her team! Go Bobcats!

Homemade Pretzels

Yesterday, Amanda and I were watching, "Throw down with Bobby Flay," on the Food Network Channel. Bobby was making homemade pretzels. Amanda wanted to make them. So, after dinner we tried out his recipe. Before going into the oven...
After they came out of the oven...

Will and Amanda were making silly faces as they waited for the pretzels to come out of the oven!
Amanda gave them "thumbs up!"
Will said they were "yummy!" We all liked them. Next time, we are going to experiment with wheat flour and other toppings. The recipe is on www.foodnetwork.com search soft pretzels. We had a lot of fun making them!

Soccer Game

Amanda was up at 6:30 am today ready to play soccer, after going to bed really late! She started off playing mid-fielder (which never happens) and then played goalie most of the game. She didn't allow any goals to be scored! Great job, Amanda! After the game, Coach Mike told them how proud he was of all of them.
On three.....GO BOBCATS!!!! Notice her sleeve, "A-DOG". Amanda was too long to fit on her short sleeve!

Proud Bill!

Bill was very excited that he caught TWO home run balls during batting practice using Will's glove and didn't even get hurt a little bit. Good job, Bill. You still have it!

Naturals Baseball Game

Last night, we went to The Naturals Baseball game in Springdale. The weather was cool, but we bundled up and stayed warm. We had great seats, thanks Emilie and Jason.
The kids were able to meet "Striker" the mascot.

Amanda was determined to stay awake and watch the firework show at the end of the game. She fell asleep, but was able to open her eyes just in time to watch the fireworks.
The firework show was great! The kids were happy we stayed, even if it was way past all of our bedtimes!

Gamma and Papa Shively's

After we were in Atlanta, we went to visit Gamma and Papa Shively in Aiken, S.C. They took us to feed the horses.
Will and Amanda thought feeding the horses was really neat!

Gamma and Papa Shively took us to Fort Discovery in downtown Augusta, GA. Will is acting cool on a motorcycle.
Amanda wanted to ride the motorcycle, too! I told both of them not to get any ideas!
Will and Amanda enjoyed the river walk along the Savannah. Thanks Gamma and Papa Shively for entertaining us while we were visiting!

Atlanta visit

While we were in Atlanta, Great Aunt Linda took us to the Children's Museum downtown Atlanta. They had so many cool things to do. Will enjoyed the water section.
Amanda enjoyed painting on the wall.

When we left the museum, it was snowing! Thanks Aunt Linda for treating us to hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries at The Varsity! Yummy!

We will miss you, Gary

Gary Binfield passed away a few weeks ago. He was one of my college swim coaches at UGA. Bill also worked with Gary at UGA. He was a wonderful person. We are blessed to have known him. His wife, Annika, was one of my bridesmaids and a dear friend. We continue to keep Annika, Hayden (5) and Emmie (1 1/2) in our thoughts and prayers.

Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny hid 36 eggs, full of Tootsie rolls and quarters. Their baskets were filled with new P.J's and underwear! How exciting!
Easter couldn't happen without making our bunny cake. We went with a red, white and blue theme. The kids had a good time!
What a cute bunny cake!

Tulsa Zoo

Over Spring Break, we went to the Tulsa Zoo. Here is a picture before we heading into the Zoo. We had 3 mommies, 1 grandma and 8 kids. We didn't leave anyone there, but we thought about it!

Will found his relatives at the Ape House. He fit right in!

Amanda was getting a better look at the penguins.

The giraffe exhibit was really neat. Will and Amanda wanted them to stand up, I think it was naptime.
